Crescent Head Guide

Crescent Head is about simple pleasures — surf, ocean swims, nature walks, slow lunches, and the landscape around you. Whether you’re here with kids or escaping for a couple of days, these are our favourite ways to experience Crescent Head — in and out of the water.
SURF

Crescent Head is one of Australia’s most iconic longboard waves. The famous right-hand point break peels along the headland, creating long, smooth rides that surfers travel from around the world to experience.
The wave works across a wide range of swell conditions and is especially suited to longboards and relaxed style surfing.
Even if you don’t surf, it’s worth heading to the point to watch the lineup — especially at sunrise or sunset.
We highly recommend checking out the back beaches along Point Plumber Road, where you can find a variety of point breaks and beach breaks. These offer protection and alternative options to the main beach depending on wind and swell direction as well as stunning scenery and a nice drive.
Boards can be hired at Sea Sea. Our rental fleet has been expertly curated by Andy Findlay from Wild Things Gallery in Byron Bay. See hotel equipment below for more details.
Reception can also help organise surf lessons with one of our trusted local coaches who can get you dialed in to the point or help explore the back beaches
