Dagger 9'4

Gato Herói Dagger

9’11

This is a really unique board for experienced longboarders to experience in good waves but also a great trim board for curious shortboarders when the surf is super small or full. The dagger was originally developed by Robin as Alex Knost’s Gato model and was fine-tuned for punchy Blackies beach breaks. After many years of development in all conditions, the model is well rounded — it is fast, stable and responsive. The dagger holds in tight when noseriding in the pocket while also handling sharp turns and full blooded cutbacks with ease.

Personel 9'4

Brown Microwave Television Personal

9’4

The Personal is a Alex Knost’s main longboard, developed and refined over the last 8 or so years. Al needed a versatile longboard for all conditions, something he could rely on to perform, when travelling with a small quiver. This board has moderately foiled rails with a rolled bottom that allows you to push hard through turns. There is a long deep nose concave through the top third of the board allowing for long critical noserides in the pocket. This Personal is the most recent version that Alex has been working on in Australia over the summer. He was playing around with bringing the wide point back a touch more, to create a flatter nose rocker. There is a little more tail kick and the nose concave has also been blended and lengthened. The new Personal is a really well-rounded model and wont disappoint! This is Alex Knost’s current daily rider.

Spacepig 7'10

Gato Herói Spacepig

7’10

This is another amazingly versatile mid-length single fin, suited to all conditions – beach-breaks, reefs and points. This is an excellent board for shortboarders who want to try something with a bit more foam when it is smaller, without making the jump to a full length longboard. It’s also a great ‘step up’ board for experienced longboarders who want some more manoeuverability in chest high to overhead conditions. It’s even suited to beginners wanting to have some fun. The spacepig has a generous outline, and a lightly rolled vee bottom, allowing the rider to stay in trim, change direction in a flash and reach the nose in the right sections. It’s truly versatile, perfect for those days when changing conditions make for a difficult choice of board. Spacepig receives so much amazing feedback, particularly from (but definitely not limited to) surfers who may have spent their lifetime shortboarding but have started to explore longer boards.

Roach 6'6

Gato Herói Roach

6’6

The Roach is a classic single fin, inspired by Michael Peterson’s Kirra stubbie outline. This is an incredibly fun board. It’s manoeuverable, super fast and really agile in punchy waves.
There is also enough foam to paddle into bigger waves and the board holds in well when it gets hollow. The roach is really fun on open-faced pointbreaks (shoulder high to overhead) but has also really blown our minds in sucky beachies.

Smooth Operator 9'6

Gato Herói Smooth Operator

9’6

A Gato team favourite! Smooth Operator is the perfect all rounder, suitable for a wide range of conditions, for beginners and rippers alike. The name sums it up well, this is a lovely stable board with slight rocker, a rolled bottom and rails that allow the rider to stay in the pocket. The widepoint is set back slightly for stable nose-riding and the refined rails offer plenty of manoeuverabillity. Unlike a lot of longboards, you rarely feel like you’re not in the sweet spot. The smooth op is a ‘desert island’ longboard – it works in anything from 1ft mush to more demanding head-high to overhead conditions.

Californian 9'9

Crème Californian

9’9

The Californian is the perfect summer longboard, an incredible noserider that still turns really nicely off the tail. The parallel outline and fuller mid section ending in slightly kicked tail combine to make for dynamic noseriding. The scooped nose reduces swing weight through turns as well as providing flex when you’re up the front of the board. The Californian is wide and stable, yet somehow still holds in nicely on steeper sections. A Classic California ‘Logger’ essence has been refined, adding speed and drive through turns. Highly recommended for classic California-style longboarding in summer conditions.

Acid Drop 7'6

Gato Herói Acid

This mid-length single fin will surprise you with its original approach in all situations, in trim as well as through turns and tubing sections. This is another board that will work well for shortboarders and experienced longboarders alike. Expect easy paddling and driving turns with single fin glide and flow.

Quartet 6'2

Neal Purchase Jnr Quartet

6’2

The Quartet model is a really rippable quad from Neal Purchase Jnr, ideal for hollow beachies with a bit of power and punch and for shoulder high plus out at the point when it starts to light up! The board is based on a classic fish design, but then Neal has added a pulled-in round tail and four fins (in a broken keel configuration). Two larger MR-style fins are at the front, with two smaller single-foil stabilisers behind them. This design generates lots of speed and has a lot of drive without tracking. This is the latest updated version of this model shaped by Neal, he has been experimenting with chimed decks for a lower profile rail & getting amazing results.

Surfar 8'8

Gato Herói Surfar

8’8

The Surfar sits somewhere between a longer mid-length and low-volume longboard. It’s a single fin, and the clean teardrop outline with forward wide point makes for an exciting combination – fast through the water (with a sweet spot in forward trim) and then drivey and radical off the tail. Whether you need to hold a line in waves of consequence, plow through junk on bigger waves or find effortless trim speed on smaller days, the Surfar will deliver. The rocker is low and flat with a rolled vee throughout, transitioning into a more panelled vee off the tail. Plenty of foam, foiled into a 70/30 down rail makes this board exciting and dynamic for those with style and experience, but also forgiving for all operators. Choose Surfar for mercurial performance in all conditions.

Yinyang 7'0

Dead Kooks Yin Yang

7’0

The Yin Yang is a midlength twinny that will go wherever a shortboard normally would! A low, short rail line pulls everything in tight, adding sensitivity and offering both critical surfing and forgiveness. This board is at home in a wide range of conditions, it will carry speed well over fat sections but also project in any direction your ability will allow when there’s some wall to work with.

The Creme Fish is a refined take on the classic twin fin fish and performs in a wide range of conditions, from open-faced points to choppy rip bowls. There is more entry rocker than your traditional fish, with a single concave and a fast flat rocker in the back 3/4 of the board. A subtle bevel between the concave and rail, (inspired by steve lis) provides fast and easy transitions between turns.
